White or cream clothing is not only pretty on little ones, it also has not been colour dyed. I do like second hand clothing or hand me downs, as all the nasties have already been washed out. I definitely watch out on items that are on direct skin contact. We have one lady with very sensitive skin and using a special washing powder for children and washing all the clothing before they get worn is a necessity for us. A good test in the shop is smelling the clothing you buy first - a strong unnatural smell is never a good sign. I also look out for 100% cotton and natural fabrics.
