Free play is the healthiest form of play for our children. I do remind myself often to not interrupt my girls and let them be in their own little worlds for that little bit longer - where their minds can relax and re-charge. I love when they arrive at that magic point where they don't need anyone or anything but themselves. Completely focused on their task, story, song or little world they have created. They make up their own rules, own stories and even sometimes their own languages. Giving them enough time to do this and by staying in the background (reading, doing crochet or knitting, sometimes cleaning or gardening) - being there but not always available. The picture is from a flea market, a find from when the girls where still very little... I think that's what I always imagined (or hoped for) them - together in their own little magical world.
