One of our girls had a tummy bug over the weekend and was throwing up. She was going without any food for awhile to calm her tummy and to not give the bacteria anything to feed on. So we just stuck to water and herbal tea. But there always comes the point where they get so hungry that they have to eat and it seems everyone has a different suggestion on what foods best to start on. Common ones in Germany include Saltletts, potato-mash and chicken broth, but we always try mashed banana with finely grated apple first (both a good source of pectin). It's easy to prepare and usually I have the ingredients already at home. It's easy on the tummy and in case the tummy is not quite ready yet it's also easy to throw up again.
